The Verdict
The gap is forty-five to Hamilton, fifty to Russell. The nearest chaser is no longer Antonelli's teammate — it is Hamilton, and he took the position on the lap he ended Russell's race. Contact in the Les Combes complex, a five-second penalty for causing it, and a five-point separation that now reads as second place. The order changed on lap one of forty-four, and the arithmetic has not looked back.
